Before beginning
An adult should read the actual instructions, warnings and age marking and inspect the item. Set up a stable, clear workspace and decide what will be changed and what will stay the same. Keep loose parts away from anyone who might mouth them. Store theme categories do not replace an item’s age grading.
Light & optical tools
Never look at the sun through a magnifier, prism or other optical tool. Do not focus sunlight onto skin, clothing or surfaces. Explore with gentle room lighting and follow the actual item’s directions. Stop using an optical component if it is cracked or damaged.
Motion, air & water
Keep fingers, hair and clothing away from moving components. Use gentle pressure, keep rolling objects contained and never aim air devices at a face. Water activities require adult supervision, a controlled amount of water and separation from electrical items. Empty and dry water equipment after use.
Nature observation
Use clean, appropriate observation objects chosen by an adult. Avoid unknown plants, insects, contaminated material and substances that could be harmful. Wash hands after nature activities. Do not taste any experiment materials.
Care & storage
Follow the actual product’s care instructions. If those are unavailable, do not assume a component can be immersed, heated, put in a dishwasher or treated with chemicals. Store components dry, away from excessive heat and direct sun. Keep instructions and remove damaged items from use. Contact support about any uncertainty.
